Note: Please don't confuse the above sci-fi themed comic book with the all-text science fiction novel (Star Chosen) that I released earlier in 2010. They are two totally different books. But if you like one, you will like the other.

Straight Baby Talk

Straight Baby Talk - Silly Daddy webcomic by Chiappetta
A woman stands impossibly sideways on a hill and says, "When I was born, my mother told me, 'Stand up straight!'"

I actually knew someone who repeatedly told this story to me about their infancy.

How To Make Memorable Changes In Your Life

How To Make Memorable Changes In Your Life - Silly Daddy webcomic by Joe Chiappetta
You too can improve the very fabric of your family life. The supper conversation sewn into this comic is dressed with unforgettable and practical wisdom.

At the dinner table, my wife said to me, "Anna had a big fit today at the library. It was very disruptive."

Looking at my young daughter sternly, I said "God does not want us to have fits, Anna. You need to change."

While holding up her pink sleeves, Anna replied, "I did change. These are my pajamas."

Silly Daddy Goes Science Fishing

Silly Daddy Goes Science Fishing - webcomic by Joe Chiappetta

"Dad, I'm going to make a science fishing novel too," said my four year old daughter shortly after I released a new sci-fi novel.

I replied, "Great, but I think you mean science FICTION."

Webcomic is a drawing done on Google Docs Drawing online program by Joe Chiappetta, 2010.
Google Docs Drawing Review: (mini-review) This is the first time I have used the drawing feature in Google Docs, as the feature went live April 2010. It's very minimalistic in what you can create and edit, but I was impressed with the variety of formats in which users can save the drawing as, including the scalable vector graphics (SVG) format. It's no replacement for Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape, but if you need to get a quick doodle done here and there and add some text and you are not too picky, it is a nice quick free online art program. Hopefully they will add features to it as time goes by; The ability to edit nodes would be great addition to this cloud software program.

What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up?

What Do You Want To Be When You Grow Up? - comic by Joe Chiappetta, Silly Daddy
A little girl sitting by the harbor and listening to the calm of Lake Michigan says, "I want to be a boat when I grow up."

While this is a drawing from life of my youngest daughter at a harbor restaurant off of Lake Michigan, she never actually made this statement. However, when I was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, as a child, I said I wanted to be a police car. It seemed perfectly logical at the time. My Dad was a cop, and if I were a police car, then I could drive him around and we could go on adventures together--Papa and his Robot Automobile Son. It's rather poetic.

Coincidentally, this comic goes live on National Robotics Week. Hopefully, the indirect connection floats your boat.

Silly Daddy Now Serving Vegan Comics

Silly Daddy Now Serving Vegan Comics - by Joe Chiappetta
Looking at an amazing pattern of bright green shapes on the floor of an artist's studio, Silly Daddy said, "Wow, is that your latest work of art?"

The artist replied, "No, I just spilled my salad."

Webcomic by Joe Chiappetta 2009 is a digital drawing on Samsung Q1 Ultra Mobile PC running Microsoft Windows XP, using Facebook Graffiti application and GIMP program.

If anyone has guessed that the artist on the right is a caricature of Lauren Carney, you get the prize head of lettuce.
