I Just Got Interviewed

I just got interviewed webcomic

An excited science fiction author shares some good news with his family. "Hey Grandma Lowteccarillo, you know how I have a new book out? Well, something cool has happened; I just got INTERVIEWED on someone's blog!"

Not the most computer literate person, Grandma Lowteccarillo asks, "So did you get the job?"

This comic commemorates the fact that I actually did get interviewed by Alice Roelke about my novel, Star Chosen here: http://thewritinglifeforme.blogspot.com/2011/02/interview-of-joe-chiappetta-author-of.html. Check it out.

If Machines Could Write For You

Silly Daddy - Hopeless Writer

A pair of sci-fi geeks have a curious discussion about artificial intelligence. One says, "What if I invented a machine that copied your intellect so well, that it could write books as if they came from your own mind? Would you still write your own books?"

The other instinctively replies, "Yeah, I'd write about that."

My Mouth Is Covered

My Mouth is Covered comic by Joe Chiappetta

Ink pens and markers on two pieces of 3.5" x 4.5" paper by Joe Chiappetta 2011

While playing in the snow and completely bundled up in warm winter gear, my daughter said to me, "My mouth is covered, so you can't hear me."

Impressed with the simple logic of her statement, I replied, "Thanks for clearing that up for me."

Profound Question on the Search for Open People

Profound Question on the Search for Open People comic

Ink pen on 4.5" x 3.5" paper by Joe Chiappetta 2011

After I had finished praying, my daughter had a most profound question. This was immediately following my prayer of "God please help us to find more people who are open to the gospel, amen."

My five-year-old daughter asked, "Why doesn't God just MAKE all the people come to church?"

This deep question led to a great discussion about how God wants us to freely choose him rather than robotic followers. God wants a willing spirit, as Jesus says in John chapter 4, that the kind of worshipers the Father seeks are those who worship in spirit and in truth. I was amazed at how my daughter, at so young an age, was thinking on such a sound spiritual level, and I thank God for it.
