Sweet Conversation at Israel Cafe

Sweet Conversation at Israel Cafe

Ink pens and markers on 8.5" x 5.5" paper by Joe Chiappetta 2011

While eating out at a Chicago restaurant, during one of our family times, my youngest daughter said, "I like Israel Cafe. Oh, I wonder if we'll have locust and honey, like John the Baptist!"

My son replied, "I don't think that's on the menu."

Comic Realist's Note: For the record, that's not on the menu. Also note that I took the liberty of changing the name of the restaurant for the sake of brevity in this comic. The real name of the great little restaurant we ate at is called "Old Jerusalem Restaurant." It's in Chicago's Old Town, and the whole family recommends it.

I'm not keen on eating locusts. I think John can keep them.
