Social Skills for Silly Daddy

Social Skills for Silly Daddy

Ink pens and markers on 8.5" x 5.5" paper by Joe Chiappetta 2011

Here is a comic about social skills that screams, "You're NOT hired!" At a job fair, an employer from Pac-Mart asks a hopeful job seeker, "Do you have any social skills?"

The job seeker replies, "Does Facebook count?"

This comic is used in disability awareness presentations I do about developmental disabilities, including intellectual disabilities. I use it to highlight how social skills are not intuitive for everyone. For many people, more focus and learning is required to engage in appropriate social communication and interaction.

Oh, and for the record, Facebook or other online social networks typically won't improve your social skills. Sorry.
