The Back Pocket Discovery

The Back Pocket Discovery - Silly Daddy webcomic by Chiappetta
Most pairs of toddler pants only have pockets in the front. This prompted my three year old daughter to discover something surprising as she noticed the back of my jeans;

"Hey! You've got pockets on your butt!"

Silly Daddy Names His Daughter

Silly Daddy Names His Daughter - webcomic by Chiappetta
While walking outside with my daughter, I said to her, "Isn't this a nice park, Huggy Face?"

My daughter replied, "Don't call me Huggy Face! My name is Snuggle Bunny!"

Said She Was Nervous, But The Crowd Was Blown Away

I drew this at my daughter's final high school music solo recital.

Said she was nervous, but the crowd was blown away.

That girl could sing--it was the highlight of the day.

The Origin of Strong Son

The Origin of Strong Son - Silly Daddy webcomic by Chiappetta
While doing push ups with the family I said, "Your strength is increasing Son, especially since you've been working out with me every morning."

My son replied, "Yeah Dad, my arms are getting so strong, I can barely lift them."

What to do with a sloppy comic?

What to do with a sloppy comic? by Chiappetta
While holding up my latest illustration, I asked my little son, "Should I copyright this comic, or is it too sloppy?"

"Why don't you just SLOPPYRIGHT it?" he replied.

This webcomic actually carries on a tradition for me. In college, I had a friend who called me "Joe the Sloppy Artist," because my work was often very messy. My friend's name was Thor. True story.

Deep Science Fiction Question

Is science fiction real? webcomic by Chiappetta
"Is science fiction real?"

That's a question my son asked me when he was very little. I think I originally answered "no," but after seeing the new Star Trek movie last night with my wife, I'm going to have to change my answer to "Oh Yes!"

Speaking of science fiction, the sci-fi novel I am working on is coming along nicely. The final draft is going through one more round of proofreading by a select few, and I am working on a very detailed cover illustration. Contact me if you want to be on the list of people who get sci-fi novel updates.

Girl with the Tacky Plastic Headpiece

Girl with the Tacky Plastic Headpiece - Silly Daddy webcomic by Chiappetta
"I like a girl who's not afraid to wear a tacky plastic headpiece," said a boy to a girl wearing a plastic bug antenna headband in her hair. "Will you go on a date with me?"

"I can't hear you," replied the girl. "My antennas are broke."

This drawing originated from sketches done at my daughter's last ever high school spring concert.

The Silly Daddy Menu

The Silly Daddy Menu
Even though it took place at Red Lobster restaurant, there is nothing fishy about this funny incident.

"Here's your menu, sir," said our waiter, who then turned to my daughter and said, "And here's a kids menu for you, little one."

Holding a few crayons, my daughter looked at me and boasted, "You can't color on yours."

Do You Still Love Me?

"Do you still love me after ten years of marriage?" asked my wife.

"Definitely," I replied.

Take Me To Your Green Jobs

Take Me To Your Green Jobs - Silly Daddy webcomic by Chiappetta
A space ship approaches Silly Daddy. It lands and a tall green alien wearing a neck tie gets out of the flying saucer. Happily, the alien says, "I heard you have green jobs here."
