Scientific Proof that God Wrote the Bible

The friend replies, "No thanks. If I knew the Bible was from God, then I would have to obey it."

Men and women could not have known these facts at the time that these verses were written. This brings forward a logical question; If the scientific knowledge of ancient times recorded in the Bible didn't come from mankind, where then did it come from?

GRAVITY
Ancient Egyptians said earth floated in a river. Ancient Indians (Hindu) said earth was on the back of 4 elephants standing on the back of a giant turtle, swimming in a sea of milk, encircled by a great snake. Ancient Greeks had earth on the back of Atlas. Buddhists had earth on the back of a giant catfish.

Job 26:7 (Written 2000 BC)
"He suspends the earth over nothing."

GLOBE
People thought earth was flat until the 1400s AD.

Isaiah 40:22 (700 BC)
"He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth,"

CONTINENTAL DRIFT
Land masses move a few inches yearly.

Job 9:5 (2000 BC)
"He moves mountains without their knowing it"

THE WATER CYCLE
from evaporation to cloud formation to rain was not clearly understood by scientists until the 1800s AD.

Job 36:26-29 (2000 BC)
"He draws up the drops of water, which distill as rain to the streams; the clouds pour down their moisture and abundant showers fall on mankind?"

Ecclesiastes 1:7 (950 BC)
"All streams flow into the sea, yet the sea is never full. To the place the streams come from, there they return again."

PREGNANT WOMEN
who drink alcohol was not clearly understood as being dangerous until modern times.

Judges 13:3-4 (1100 BC)
"going to conceive and have a son. Now see to it that you drink no wine or other fermented drink and that you do not eat anything unclean,"

UNCOOKED MEAT
can carry many diseases.

Leviticus 17:10 (1400 BC)
"Any Israelite or any alien living among them who eats any blood-I will set my face against that person who eats blood and will cut him off from his people."

GERMS
were not known or accepted by doctors until the 1800s AD.

Numbers 19:11 (1400 BC)
"Whoever touches the dead body of anyone will be unclean for seven days."

If you touch dead body, then you're unclean. Wash with water and hysop. Hysop is an antibacterial agent. Moses couldn't have known this.

Even up through 1800s, doctors would do an autopsy on a dead body and then go right over and deliver a baby... Using the same instruments and without washing. People wondered why death rate of new mothers was so high: 1 of 6 dies. They said it was due to constipation, fear or poison air in the ward.

A Hungarian obstetrician named Ignatz Semmelweis theorized in 1847 AD that there were unseen particles called germs that were the problem. When doctors finally started washing hands, death rate in maternity wards went from 18% to 2% for the mothers.

Leviticus 13:45-46 (1400 BC)
"The person with such an infectious disease must wear torn clothes, let his hair be unkempt (uncovered), cover the lower part of his face and cry out, 'Unclean! Unclean!' As long as he has the infection he remains unclean. He must live alone; he must live outside the camp."

Leviticus 13:51-52 (1400 BC)
"On the 7th day he is to examine it, and if the mildew has spread in the clothing, or the woven or knitted material, or the leather, whatever its use, it is a destructive mildew; the article is unclean. He must burn up the clothing, or the woven or knitted material of wool or linen, or any leather article that has the contamination in it, because the mildew is destructive; the article must be burned up."

Deuteronomy 23:12-13 (1400 BC) "Designate a place outside the camp where you can go to relieve yourself. As part of your equipment have something to dig with, and when you relieve yourself, dig a hole and cover up your excrement."

SHIP BUILDING
The dimensions given to build Noah's ark are accurate for an ocean going vessel. Noah was a farmer with no previous sailing skills mentioned.

Genesis 6:15 (1400 BC)
"This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high." [Non-Biblical flood accounts mention a cube which would tip over.]

BLOOD COAGULATES
best when an infant is exactly 8 days old.

Genesis 17:11-12 (1400 BC)
"You are to undergo circumcision, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and you. For the generations to come every male among you who is 8 days old must be circumcised,"

BLOOD CIRCULATION
is needed to survive. A harmful blood-letting procedure was often used by doctors up to the 1800s AD.

Leviticus 17:11 (1400 BC)
"For the life of the creature is in the blood..."

AGING
was until recently thought to be an unregulated and haphazard biological process of tissue deterioration, much like a car getting old and gradually breaking down over time. But biologists such as Dr. Cynthia Kenyon have now identified genes that have the specific function of accelerating the aging process. When this gene is slowed down in worms and mice, it doubles their lifespan. Some gene experiments have even resulted in worms living 6 times as long. Going back to the first people in the Bible, many of them originally lived to be 800 or more years old. People were designed with the capacity to live much longer, as shown in...

Genesis 5:27 (1400 BC)
"Altogether, Methuselah lived 969 years, and then he died."

But after Noah, it is very likely that God activated the genes in humans that accelerated aging.

Genesis 6:3 (1400 BC)
"Then the LORD said, 'My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years.'"

Scientists demonstrating that people can have the built-in capacity to live longer makes it easier for skeptics to accept the biblical statements that many people before Noah's day lived to be over 800.

CONCLUSION
Men and women could not have known these facts at the time that these verses were written. This is very strong evidence that only God, the creator, could have written the Bible. Therefore, since the Bible is from God, you should do what it says.
